Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing A1 American Transmission & Automotive Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of our services, repair work, website interaction, appointment scheduling and any associated work we perform at our facility located in Houston, TX. By requesting service or visiting our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not proceed.
1. Scope of Services
We provide automotive repair, maintenance, transmission services, diagnostics and related work for vehicles at our service facility (“Services”). We may also provide estimates, diagnostics, parts replacement, and road-test services. Any appointment or work you request will be subject to these Terms.
2. Estimates, Authorization & Payment
- When you bring your vehicle to us, we will provide an estimate of the work required (parts, labor, etc.). You authorize us to proceed when you approve the estimate.
 - We may not proceed with work without your explicit approval of the estimate unless an emergency condition is found.
 - You agree to pay for the Services (including parts, labor, fees, taxes) upon completion or as otherwise agreed.
 - If you fail to pay within agreed billing terms, we may charge interest or late fees and/or retain a mechanic’s lien on your vehicle as permitted by Texas law.
 
3. Parts & Labor Warranty
- We may offer a warranty on parts and labor for work we perform. The specific warranty terms (duration, mileage, exclusions) will be provided on your repair order.
 - Warranty does not cover: owner misuse or abuse, damage from accidents, commercial use (unless specified), environmental damage, modifications, or any work done by others after our service.
 - To make a warranty claim you must return to us, give us the repair order number and allow us the opportunity to inspect and perform any covered warranty work.
 
4. Vehicle Drop-off, Storage & Pick-up
- You must arrange service pickup time. If you fail to pick up your vehicle within a reasonable time after notification of completion, we may charge storage fees or minor damage liability.
 - We are not responsible for loss or theft of personal items left in the vehicle unless you notify us and we agree in writing in advance.
 
5. Customer Responsibilities
- You must provide accurate information about your vehicle (make, model, year, VIN, mileage) and symptoms of any issues.
 - You must make the vehicle available for service at the agreed appointment time.
 - You must pick up the vehicle promptly and pay all charges in full.
 - You must follow any maintenance or usage instructions we provide post-service.
 
6. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
- Except as expressly provided in the warranty, we make no other guarantees or warranties, either express or implied (including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose).
 - Our liability for any claim arising out of or related to our Services is limited to the amount you paid for those Services.
 - Under no circumstances will we be liable for incidental, consequential, punitive or special damages (such as loss of use, loss of income, towing, rental car, alternate transportation) even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
 - We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, unrelated damage, or failures caused by other mechanics or after our work is completed.
 
7. Parts Supplied by You
If you supply parts for your vehicle:
- We may inspect but do not warranty those parts unless we explicitly agree in writing.
 - We are not liable for failure or damage caused by parts you supply.
 
8. Vehicle Condition, Proper Use & Maintenance
- After service, you agree to operate and maintain your vehicle per standard manufacturer guidelines. Misuse/hard use/commercial use can void parts of the warranty.
 - If you modify your vehicle or use it in racing/commercial taxi/ride-share applications without our prior written approval, your warranty and liability protections terminate.
 
9. Privacy & Text Messaging
- Your personal information is handled per our Privacy Policy.
 - If you opt in for text (SMS) updates or appointment reminders: no mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
 
10. Website Use & Intellectual Property
- Our website, content, images, and materials are our property or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute or display them without our prior written consent.
 - You may access the website only for your own use and subject to these Terms.
 
11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
 - Any dispute arising hereunder shall be submitted exclusively to the state or federal courts located in Houston, Harris County, Texas.
 - You and we both submit to the jurisdiction of those courts.
 
12. Amendments
- We may update these Terms at any time. The revised Terms will be posted on our website with a new “Effective Date”. Your continued use of our Services after that date constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
 - For major changes, we may notify you through our website or with direct communication.
 
13. Severability & Waiver
- If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary so the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
 - Our failure to enforce any right hereunder does not constitute a waiver of that right.
